SKI RESORTS
Liddes-Vichères
Located just a 5 minute drive away, this is the closest ski resort to our chalet, with a shuttle bus running daily right outside our door. This is a small but good resort used by the locals that is far from the hustle and bustle and never overcrowded with tourists.
There are 15 km of slopes available and 4 lifts at altitudes between 1,595 and 2,267 m. There are 7 km of easy slopes, 5 km of intermediate and 3 km of difficult, making it the perfect place for beginner top intermediate skiers, but advanced skiers will appreciate also not easily bored.
It also doesn't have a designated learning area so it's no idea for beginner skiers, but there is a complete beginner slope less than 10 minutes away so first timers can train there before joining the others.
When it comes to taking a break, grabbing a bite to eat or heading for a well deserved beer or vin chaud after the day's skiing, the resort has a small bar / restaurant at the top of the main lift and a larger one the bottom, both have a decent selection as well as more than reasonable prices for Switzerland.
And of course let's not forget the beautiful view of the Alps!

La Fouly
For those needing to rent equipment, we're good friends with owners of the rental store at the entrance of the resort, so you're sure to get kitted out for a good price. The bar & restaurant is reasonably priced and often hosts a DJ during the weekend, however, if you're looking to grab a cheaper bite to eat, there's also a small supermarket next door to the rental shop.
Champex-Lac
Located about 15-20 minutes drive away next to one of neighbouring villages, this ski resort has 25km of pistes, and while there is one decent blue run, the majority are red and black slopes designed for intermediates and upper-intermediates. There are also plenty of cross country tracks groomed for both classic and skating techniques.
When it comes to eating and drinking, there are 2 restaurants, one at the top of the lift and one at the bottom, as well as a refreshments hut next to the nursery slope.
